Variable contrast paper
VC papers provide all the different grades of contrast from one box. It allows the user to print to the desired contrast by varying the enlarger's yellow and magenta colour filters.

A viewing aid, used for composing and focusing the subject. It would normally also display exposure and camera settings.

Vignetting
Fall-off in illumination at the edges of an image. This can be caused by poor lens design, using a hood not matched to the lens, or using too many filters at the same time.
